OUR COMPANY

Accessible Design Consulting, LLC was founded in 2015 by its current president, Rodney A. Cottrell, and it's principal consultant and practice leader, James A. Besong. Accessible Design Consulting is a Pittsburgh, PA based consulting firm working with small, medium, large, for-profit and non-profit businesses, as well as local governments, in fulfilling the legal obligations of Title II and Title III of the American's with Disabilities Act.

FOUNDER & PRESIDENT
Rodney Cottrell, MSHRM, BSBA, CEBS, CCP, CMS, SPHR is the current President of Accessible Design Consulting, LLC, Corporate Compensation Partners, LLC and EHResearch Data Services, LLC. Mr. Cottrell advises corporate and non-profit executives, directors and/or trustees on complex compensation transactions. Concentrating specifically in compensation issues, he is considered an expert in the areas of executive pay, director compensation, sales compensation, incentive plans, employee compensation and compensation technology. Mr. Cottrell provides international and domestic compensation consulting to clients in multiple industries across the United States and is a lecturer and guest speaker at colleges and corporate events.

Rodney has been a Fellow with the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists, an adjunct professor of management at La Roche College, an instructor for the HRCI certification program and the CEBS program offered through the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School. Mr. Cottrell is a graduate of the La Roche College Master of Science In Human Resource Management program with a specialty concentration in Strategic Management and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management and Psychology. Rodney holds the following professional certifications: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Compensation Management Specialist (CMS), and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
FOUNDER & PRACTICE LEADER
James Besong, MSHRM, CHRL, CWDP, CDIS, CEAP, Practice Leader, has extensive experience in ADA Title III, consulting, audit and transition plan preparation having worked with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry in statewide ADA auditing and plan preparation and with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission as a case consultant. Jim also served as Project Manager for the Pennsylvania Governor's Office of Administration, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, evaluating and approving reasonable accommodation cases. Jim holds a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from La Roche College, as well as, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Jim is the former CEO and President of a design engineering firm and construction company. In 1987, Jim founded the Western Pennsylvania Scleroderma Foundation having served as its President and Executive Director. Having retired in 2011, Jim continues to pursue his passion of assisting businesses with handicap accessible design and compliance
